When we finally reached the falls we were a bit shocked at their popularity. There were burger stands, beer stands, crepe stalls and all kinds of tat stalls catering for a huge number of tourists.
The idyllic bathing in the pools at the bottom of the falls we’d been hoping for were crowded, rocky and a bit mucky. No thanks.
We instead set off on the path that toured up and around the line of falls. This was actually pleasantly surprising and tastefully constructed. There are actually a long line of falls and lakes spread over about a kilometre and the path weaved nicely around them, sometimes going over waterfalls and sometimes leapfrogging the water as it cascaded through a huge network of pools and small tributaries on the way down.

At the top was an interesting old (but working) mill and hydro plant.
After all the effort getting there, it was actually quite good.
